PLEASURE TO MEET YOU
Guus's journey in lighting started at a young age as a rigger for local music events. In 2015, Guus travelled to the UK for the first time to build and break, as well as getting a taste for operating lighting rigs at the O2 Academy in Brixton, London.
After moving to the UK in 2017 and having operated both lighting and VJ desks, he turned his hobby into a career as a Lighting Design Technician, responsible for lighting various exterior sites all over the world including: Dublin Airport (IE), ICTS Port Manila (PH), Peage de Vienne (FR) and more.
In 2020, Guus joined an engineering consultancy to deepen his engineering knowledge - combining his passion for all things artistic lighting and solving real-world problems. His dedication to the craft saw him rising through the ranks quickly. He assisted in establishing the Public Realm team, working on a number of high-profile projects as lead lighting engineer including Croydon Minster (UK), Walthamstow Cultural Quarter (UK), Walnut Bridge Guildford (UK) and more.
Outside of lighting, Guus heads up a small team of game developers creating content for third parties. He is also a founder of a software start-up aiming to revolutionise operational software for businesses. Guus also volunteers as a community first responder - responding to patients who are critically ill and in urgent need of care.
